Cashmere Love
Yahaira asked to see the finished cashemere fingerless mittens, so here they are:
Well, that’s one of each pair, I should say. The idea was for my cousin Steve to wear the orange version and his bride, Amy, to wear the red ones. However, in modeling them, Steve decided to try on one of each.
Also, Amy wasn’t available for modeling purposes, so my other cousin Alec bravely stood in.
Each glove has the couple’s initials on one side and the date of their wedding on the other. (This being a Canadian wedding, I formatted it D/MM/YY = 6 November 2010.) The idea was that they could always keep the wedding in the palm of their hands. Of course, you can also wear them outwards as seen in the photo.
The wedding was held in Toronto, which gave me a great excuse to visit one of my favorite cities in the world. If only it wasn’t so cold! Here are a few sights:
Cool old building, new building, and sky.
Skyline as seen from the Art Gallery of Ontario
My brother on top of the CN Tower.
It was a great trip!
In other news, I’ve finished the back of my NaKniSweMo cardigan and even charted out the front colorwork last night.
