I love that chevron/cable pattern you did. That blaket looks like it ready to kick any type of draft or breeze in the teeth and send it packin’. 🙂
Thanks! It’s really cozy!
I love the giganto blanket and want to make one. One question where do I get the yarn to make it. I am pretty sure they don’t sell it in regular knitting stores. I have never seen it actually any where. Can you help me out to get the wool and how many scans do I need for it?
Thank you
Lisa D
Hi Lisa — it uses about 6-7 pounds of wool, which I get from Sheep Shed Studio online. You can find more info on my FAQ page!
For those of us with wool allergies who knit with cotton or synthetics, any ideas?
More info can be found on my FAQ: http://nocturnalknits.com/giganto-blanket-faq/ — do a search for “nylon”
Is there a way to purchase the blanket?
Yep! I sell it on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/iwriteplays
You stated you slightly felted the wool and spit it in half. First, how do you slightly felt wool. Secondly, did you split it in half vertically (length wise) or horizontally when you felt the balls were too big?
I split the wool vertically, so you have two long strands that are half the thickness of the original wool. The felting instructions are all included in the pattern, which is available for purchase. More info can be found on my FAQ: http://nocturnalknits.com/giganto-blanket-faq/
