The Cabo Cardi is a fitted cardigan that works beautifully as a transitional piece on mild spring days to cool nights at the beach. A vining lace pattern travels up the cardigan and a drawstring is pulled through a row of eyelets along to waist to create a comfortable fit with ease.

The nature of the lace and the cotton/linen blend used in this pattern means that this fabric is going to grow in length by about 20% after a few wears. The gauge listed above is measured after blocking, but not after wear. Thus, the measurements in the diagram and listed in the pattern are intentionally shorter than desired to allow for this growth over time.
A note about the construction: this cardigan is knit in one piece from the back hem to the beginning of the neckline, then split and both front sides are worked separately. There’s no shaping, as the drawstring will pull the waist in at the end. Once the main knit piece is completed, it’s folded in half and you sew up each side seam.
