Grafting Wool Ends Together – Giganto Blanket Tutorial Video
Hi everyone! I finally got around to uploading the video of me grafting my wool ends together for my Giganto-Blanket. Check it out:
I get a lot of questions about what it means to graft the ends together, so I hope this helps explain things a bit more clearly. It’s really a pretty simple process, and I do it for every Giganto-Blanket I make these days.
Basically what you do is hold the two ends of wool together and pound it with the needle felting tool until it becomes one cohesive piece of wool. The friction from the needle felting will basically fuse the wool together so you don’t have to worry about weaving in ends.
In addition to making the wool “yarn” seamless, by eliminating the need to weave in ends this helps you maximize your yardage. And it’s fun! Just be careful you don’t poke your fingers, that needle felting tool is SHARP! 🙂
